Week 7 Elevator Pitch No. 2

I only received one comment giving feedback on my previous elevator pitch, and didn't receive any specific advice on what to change (I appreciate your kind words, Nika!).  So, I tweaked my pitch a bit based on the others that I watched.  I noticed I was speaking a bit too fast in my first one, so I slowed my pace this time around.

I also made sure to include who I thought could benefit from my product.  I decided to begin my pitch differently, and I talked about the error message that everyone who has experienced the issue of their Iphone overheating is familiar with.  I felt the familiarity would help capture the attention of my audience.  One thing I didn't include in my first pitch was how my product actually worked.  So, this time I gave more information about the thermal insulated technology and its temperature regulating properties.

  1. Wow - this is a great idea to a solution I've encountered myself. I'm surprised no one has solved this problem yet. If you can get one produced, I'm sure tons of investors would flock to you. As far as your speech - it was very clear and you presented the problem and solution very well. Good work! http://flgatorblogging.blogspot.com

  2. Hi Analeis,
I have actually never experienced this with my phone. Ironically I have lived most of my life in Fort Lauderdale and not experienced this and I wasn't aware that this happened. However, I think that this is a good idea. Maybe next time explain a little how it would work by insulating, not details but just a general idea so your audience can visualize it. Just a thought though, because you are far away from the camera maybe try pushing the hair out of your face or moving closer to the camera. This makes it possible for the audience to connect with you better.

  3. Hey Analeis,

I actually like your idea as well as I was just out skiing and the entire time I was trying to listen to music, my phone kept shutting off because it was too cold. So I definitely see the viability in this product. Do not know exactly what thermal regulated technology looks like in a case but overall good pitch. Check out mine

  4. Analeis,

Living in Florida all of my life and constantly being outside, I really see the benefits of this product. When it is hot in the summer, my phone always overheats and it takes a good amount of time to cool down. This is definitely a product I would be interested in. As far as the presentation, I thought you did a very good job and it was easy to understand. Keep developing this idea and I think you're really up to something. 5. Good morning Analeis. Let me know when you come out with the Android phone version :). I get this error message on the beach in the summer all the time and it's a pain in the butt because we are listening to music through the phone. I liked the structure of your pitch. You asked the right questions and quickly got to the problem. I wouldn't stand in front of the window next time. The blinds are distracting. Great luck in the last half of the class!

  6. Great idea Analeis. I think this could probably be a very profitable idea. I would say to dress up a little more for your next pitch. Your appearance can go a long way when talking to an investor. I would also suggest discussing how your plan is going to be profitable. How are you going to beat out your competition, like Lifeproof? Maybe adding a water proof feature with the temperature control could set you above the others? Just an idea. Other than that, I think you have a great idea with a lot of potential. Thank you for sharing! Check mine out at http://summerborges.blogspot.com/2016/02/elevator-pitch-no-2.html

  7. This is a great idea. I haven't experienced this issue personally (usually throw my phone under a towel or between my flip flops to prevent this issue). Regarding the presentation, I agree with some other comments. Dressing the part goes a long way. If you're not in to dressing up, maybe have a company branded t-shirt or something that says "I'm here to sell you a great idea." Regarding the product, I did have one question. From time to time phones will "hang" and the CPU will peg out, causing the phone to severely overheat. I could imagine this being 100x's worse if the phone is insulated and cannot breath. Do you know if/how the case could handle those situations?
